How It Started
Owner of Stone Farm Forge, Steve Stone
Steve's dad, Moody Stone, taught him to weld when he was a young boy. He was bitten by the metal works bug and knew it was what he wanted to do. In 1986, he went to farrier school and began a career in professional horseshoeing. He became a Certified Journeyman Farrier. He developed his blacksmithing skills while competing in farrier competitions. Long story short, he transitioned his blacksmithing and welding hobby into a career.

Forge Group Meeting
Forge Group Meetings
We had a great group Saturday: Mike Howard, Kaleb Munchkin Shelton & Chris Gilham.
Mike and I continued working on our Ribbon Burner Forges while Kaleb began grinding the two Forge Anvils that have edges rebuilt.
Chris floated between the two helping with both projects.
Hopefully soon we'll have two working stations for more forge work that these guys are anxious to get started on.
The next meeting will be September 18th, 2021 @ 9:00am. That's one week following the Alabama Forge Council's Annual Conference at Tannehill State Park.
